Intro
At Cloover, we're building the operating system for the energy transition, a platform that helps thousands of installation companies across Germany and Austria sell more, plan faster, and deliver better. We're backed by €1.2B in committed funding, recently closed a €22M Series A, and are just getting started on our European expansion.
Are you sharp, detail-obsessed, and energized by building things from scratch? At Cloover, we're looking for a Credit Risk Analyst to own credit decisioning, KYC processes, installer onboarding, and portfolio monitoring across five European markets. You'll work at the intersection of risk and growth, ensuring we scale fast without compromising on quality. This is a role with a clear path to senior ownership as we grow. If you want hands-on exposure to credit risk in a high-growth fintech reshaping renewable energy financing, this is your seat!
Your mission
Credit & KYC
You'll be the gatekeeper for credit quality across our entire value chain:
- Execute and refine consumer credit assessments using credit bureau data (Schufa, CRIF, Experian, Creditsafe), affordability checks, and PD scoring.
- Run full KYB/AML screening on installer partners, UBO verification, credit checks, and ongoing compliance monitoring.
- Continuously improve underwriting criteria and flag edge cases to the Head of Risk.
- Ensure every decision is defensible, documented, and aligned with our risk appetite.
Installer Onboarding
You'll own the full partner vetting process end-to-end:
Lead operational assessments for new installer partners covering financials, certifications, and operational readiness.
Conduct credit scoring, business verification, and fraud prevention checks before partners access financing features.
Set and monitor exposure limits per partner based on financial health and performance metrics.
Coordinate site visits, sample testing, and periodic reviews to maintain partner quality.
Manage onboarding across five European markets, adapting processes to local requirements.
Portfolio Monitoring & Modelling
You'll build the analytical backbone of our risk function:
- Develop and maintain portfolio monitoring dashboards tracking credit quality, concentration, and early warning signals.
- Build and refine risk models to support underwriting decisions and portfolio management.
- Analyze trends across regions, installers, and customer segments to identify emerging risks.
- Prepare risk reporting for internal stakeholders and support covenant monitoring.
At Cloover, risk analysts don't just check boxes; they shape how we scale. You'll have a direct impact on portfolio quality, partner standards, and the systems that enable €100M+ in financing.
Your profile
We care more about how you think and what you've built than where you've been. Here's what will set you up for success in this role:- 2-3 years of relevant experience in credit risk, underwriting, KYC/AML, or portfolio management.
- Bachelor's degree (minimum) in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- Excel power user; comfortable with data analysis and building models from scratch.
- You constantly strive to achieve exceptional things and are always willing to go the extra mile.
- You thrive in fast-paced, high-intensity environments where ambiguity is the norm.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and not afraid to challenge assumptions or flag concerns.
- Ambitious! You want to grow into a senior role and take on increasing responsibility as we scale.
- Team player who takes ownership and delivers under pressure.
- Fluent in English and German (required).
Nice to have (but not required):
- Bonus: Experience with BI tools (Metabase, Power BI, Tableau) or credit decisioning platforms.
- Bonus: Experience with programming languages (Python, R)
